 Lent Day 18, Saturday, Mar 6, 2021

“15 minutes of exercise”

It’s time to hop to it! Yes, today is the day to get some exercise. Rain or shine, iced or tropical, it does the body good to get some activity.

How many times have we begun that New Year’s Resolution of “Exercising this year”, only to poop out by the end of February? Today is the perfect day to resurrect that old resolution and give it some real purpose. Don’t do it for yourself; rather, do it for God.

Will exercising for God make it better, more important, or easier? No, but it gives us purpose, motivation, and it provides us with an automatic accountability partner. Sometimes, having a special and supportive partner makes all the difference in the world. But even if we don’t have one of those partners close to us, we can still be sure that God is always in our corner, cheering for us and urging us forward.

Today, our Challenge is to engage in 15 minutes of exercise. Regardless of our environment, almost all of us should be able to complete this Challenge today. Taking walks along the beach or through the woods, riding our bicycle, and water aerobics are more than qualified in this Challenge. As does walking the dog, shoveling snow, and chopping firewood. What other kind of exercise can we get? Share it below if you feel so inclined! And take a pic if you’re especially encouraged!

"For 'physical exercise' has some value, but godliness is valuable in every way. It holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.” (1 TImothy 4:8, NET)
