“Be Positive and Encouraging to Everyone!”
Can we make a difference? Oh, you betcha’! We can make a splash that carries ripples far beyond our own line of sight. Somewhere in our path today, we will encounter someone who is struggling to have hope. It may be experiencing a one-day problem or a season of great struggle. Some of them will wear their pain on their faces while others have become expert make-up artists, capable of covering even the biggest pimples.
Since we won’t know who is struggling today, we will try to make a difference by being positive and encouraging to everyone we meet today. Sure, some people don’t want help and others don’t think they need help. For many of them, they may just be unhappy because it’s a Monday.
All of us have experienced this ourselves. We understand what it’s like to struggle for a day or a season. In fact, some of us might be there right now. However, we don’t need to be in our own place of perfection in order to share a little encouragement with another person. We simply need to recognize that despite our own challenges, we can still make a difference in our world.
Not convinced? That makes sense; It’s difficult to imagine life beyond our own perception, which is precisely the reason we should be ready to show others some hope and encouragement. They might really be struggling, and our simple smile, greeting, or act of grace may be all they need to complete their day and pass it along to someone else tomorrow.
It’s the beginning of a great week in God’s world! Let’s be positive and encouraging to everyone!
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, NLT)
